One of the fringe benefits of living in Grafton are many wonderful but under utilised facilities. I’m not a golfing nut but the golf course at South Grafton is a standout in this regard. If it was in Sydney, you would need to book well in advance and pay stacks more to play in far more crowded and stressful conditions. It is great course in wonderful condition and a credit to all concerned.
While on Golf the final days play of the Mighty River Matchplay Classic gets underway today. We extend all involved our best wishes.
On the work front, last week saw cars sold to Central coast, Lismore, Urunga and Perth, that’s right Perth Western Australia, in what is believed to be a first for the region, we shipped a car by truck, as it was a bit far for the boys, after the customer was emailed a number of photos and to’d and fro’d for a day or two. Naturally the car was paid for before it was shipped, it should arrive in Perth in a week or two. We are confident like all our growing base of ‘export’ customers he’ll be happy as Larry with his purchase.
The Mighty River Redmen travelled to Casino last Saturday, I got there a little late as I popped in on aunty Joan Flatley, I was also a late getting away from another busy Saturday morning at work in the Fitzroy Street Automall.
Unfortunately Casino are not fielding a third grade side this year, although the second grade was a strong outfit, overall the club doesn’t look as strong as they were last year, in fact I thought they looked stronger in the trial game earlier this year.
The classy Redmen were a cut above, right across the park, with Gary Powell again leading from the front, with a fine captain’s knock ably supported by a willing pack of forwards who were able to give a very stylish backline plenty of quality opportunity, and again had the game in the bag at half time. Adding to an impressive start to the season. It’s a long season fellas, and some of these sides will be better prepared for us next time around, no doubt will be taking note of our apparent inability to score second half points.
Again our thoughts are on the price of fuel. One thing is for sure we’d better get used to it. There are two things you can do if you are worried, firstly get your car running as well as it can, if you think it’s not going as well as it ought see our team in the Victoria street mechanical hyperdome for a check up. Secondly if you are pushing around an abundance of horsepower, now is the time to consider powering down. The resale of older larger cars will deteriorate against the relative value of smaller more fuel-efficient models. For range and value, check out our New and Used Auto supermarket in Fitzroy street.
Finally ..don’t forget Ladies Car Education afternoon Saturday May 6.
Happy motoring,
