SPRATTY SAYS 4th August 2007
I couldn't help noticing over the last week or so, that the Jacaranda royalty Program has ramped up for another year. Having been involved in the process I cannot give a big enough wrap to the organisers for continuing to make the activities contemporary and relevant and for the contribution they make to the community. The participation rate is testimony also to the
pleasure derived by the participants. Watch out for a Queen/Princess function near you!
The other event that kicked off this week was by our very unique State Member Steve Cansdell, man of a thousand handshakes. The very worthy Pedal for pre-school, while anything to stop him kissing babies gets my vote, it is a seriously good cause attempting to put the youngest of Valley students on an equal footing with their regional and city counterparts. With Education generally becoming increasingly competitive, these youngsters needing all the help they can get - this is one program to get behind.
No rugby last week, just as well with all the aches and pains and sore throats getting around. Today is the big one though. Four games against arch rivals Ballina, any support would be appreciated. Also the last away game before the semis and the last time all senior teams will play at the same venue this season. Lots of reasons to make sure you don't miss the bus...and
bring your boots!
On the work front; firstly a big thank you to everyone who helped us achieve record sales levels over the past few months, we really appreciate your business. Also our car related exports seem to have ramped up. Over the past fortnight Tom Freebody was champing at the bit to deliver a Ute to a family in Jindabyne..mmm... I wonder why? During July a nice young couple from Cambridge Park in Sydney found their next used Hyundai in Grafton; a young bloke in Newcastle who lost his ute in the storm found the replacement in Grafton; an electrician from Woy Woy wanting to stand out in the crowd bought a blue and yellow express van from us; and a family from Pennant Hills picked up a used people mover in Grafton.
Caravans are going even further afield, with families from Mudgee, Tamworth, Newcastle and even Hackham in South Australia ( where ever that is!) finding their caravan in Grafton during July.
The better news is that a lot of these folks are trading cars and caravans we wouldn't otherwise see in the Valley.
On the new car front our first Diesel Focus arrived during the week and it's a ripper. Rob Connell seems to have a never ending bucket of bonuses for most models and August is no exception.
So call in and see Paul and Adam at Spring Street or Rob, Tom and Team McCaughey at Fitzroy Street where the crew are happy to chew the fat 7 days a week.
Happy motoring,
