SPRATTY SAYS 19-08-2006

Firstly this week I must congratulate the Jacaranda Princess movement for another excellent event at South Services club last Friday night. Plenty of non-participants attended and had a great time..ok I nipped downstairs and snuck a peek at the footy, sorry but that defect comes with the model. Seriously it really is a well oiled machine moving seamlessly from one event to another. A big well done to the organisers and the (rapidly becoming) more self assured participants, for the fantastic outcome they are giving the Community.

On the home front Brother-in-law brings mother-in-law to town for good this week. If she falls for the place half as much as Mrs Spratty and I have, she will have a ball. She has certainly kept Mrs Spratty busy getting her organised, from a unique position on the sidelines Mrs Spratty in full flight is pretty to watch.

The business end of the footy season serves us some great spectacles. With a years worth of blood, sweat and tears on the line it all steps up a notch or two. The Mighty River Redmen let everyone know that they mean business this season and that last years grand Final heart break will not reoccur without a massive fight. Last Saturday at Yamba was no exception with another high quality disciplined display of Rugby played in the right spirit, with even the most one-eyed supporter forced to acknowledge the slightly better side got up on the day. As an avowed Redman I say bring it on!

Having said that we must acknowledge the efforts of the Yamba Buccaneers this season. Still a relatively young club, faced with adversity on a number of fronts, not the least being break-ins to their club house, who theoretically should probably struggle a little in First grade rugby. The results show they obviously don’t just lift against Grafton, a consistently solid year has earned the club its initial first grade semi-final berth, finishing in second place on the ladder , is a fantastic result, as well as a solid shot at the third grade title. This is no mean feat and the Club as a whole has obviously worked hard and deserves to be congratulated on a great year.

On the workfront the exports continue. A lady in Loftus with a tribe of kids found her people mover in Grafton and a family in Canberra found the exact used car they had been looking for.. also in Grafton. We are still trying to get that elusive sale in Northern Territory, to complete the set.

Finally also on the workfront the topic of conversation is LPG. Last year we commenced the process of gaining accreditation to inspect and fit LPG to vehicles, it is not an overnight process as you can imagine. I am delighted to inform you that while we have been able to inspect LPG for a few months, the process for fitment will be completed in early September. The exciting news is we are taking bookings for conversions from late September. If you considering taking advantage of the Government subsidy drop in for a chat or give us a call to discuss the pros and cons of a LPG conversion.

Happy motoring,

Spratty
