Somehow we have raced through August and with that we appear to have left the chilly weather behind us, with the Valley revelling in warm almost Summerlike conditions….how good is this!
On the home front CC girl has ramped up her sporting profile with extra curricular doses of netball and visits to a gym. I am also getting used to the whirlwind visits to my office for a money shakedown or a ride. The faces of her accomplices are becoming more familiar, although I do apologise if I get the names mixed up occasionally still., but I reckon I’m getting better at matching the face and the destination, I guess that’s only because if I have dropped the right kid to the wrong house the folks on the receiving end have been too polite to say anything.
The other thing I am noticing with early teenagers is that I have transitioned through a range of reactions to their conversations over the past year or so..from initially being almost unintelligible they sounded pretty scary for a while, now they are just loud, brassy and full of beans. Pretty much what you would expect I guess. What is exciting when you spend time with our youngsters is the realisation that if our future is to be determined by the latent talent of our youth, we are indeed in very good shape.
The BIG news this week is today’s action at Rugby Park, kicking off at 11am three major semi-finals and a wealth of Rugby talent on show. The action starts when the very talented Yamba Buccaneers take on Ballina in third grade, in what should be a very entertaining game. Culminating in the big one at 3 pm..when the Mighty River Redmen take on Casino for a spot in the Grand Final. I trained with the boys this week, although I excel at warming up my dicky heart string failed me when the real work kicked in. Seriously once they got down to business they looked sharp and ready to go. Try and get there early for a good spot and show your support, as a home Grand Final qualifier doesn’t happen every day.
On the workfront we have been plagued by the dreaded lurgy. With nearly all the Mighty River crew (and their families) succumbing over the past few weeks. This week we have sorely missed Rob Connell, who has been laid low so to those new car customers who have missed Rob’s expertise, you will be pleased to know he is back on deck and firing on all cylinders. Productwise all of you who have been giving the new Turbo Territory’s wistful glances..all you have to do is ask for a test drive. Come on you know you want to!
Finally, Brad Reeves has certainly made an impact here at Mighty River in the Used Car Department. With Quality and Value as the cornerstones of his gameplan, he has lifted bar on our performance significantly. Come in and meet him, for a bloke from Casino he’s not too bad.
Happy motoring,
Spratty
