SPRATTY SAYS 2-12-2006
23 sleeps to go and time to put the Christmas tree up. It is certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas Clarence style, and there is a lot to like. Hot, muggy, lazy days and soothing, cool evenings sparked by lightening, with a chorus of thunder, as an almost musical backdrop to sound of rain on the roof. Why would you want to live anywhere else?
On the home front you can almost see the grass growing, Mrs Spratty is getting toey as the edges didn’t get done last mow and I think she has more ‘plans’ for the Ponderosa. Oh .. and I'm loving my new shed, don’t know how I coped without one. It becomes a demarcation point where a bloke doesn’t have to justifty his stuff , becoming a tut tut free zone. Hate to think how the shed would have ended up if I was in charge of construction… I mean I thought it all looked straight forward enough and the slope down the hill didn’t look that steep, certainly didn’t look like we would need a very patient builder, a bobcat, sundry items of plant and equipment and a small busload of footballers. .thanks again fellas.
The Junior Jacaranda Quest is over officially, however the unofficial engagements show no sign of abating for CC girl. We see her occasionally at the Ponderosa, although it seems the Sash and Tiara have been sidelined for a more day to day or a more, how you say, prêt a porte look for around town. I do continue to be ambushed by the liquid wardrobe crew, they appear like a rent-a-crowd swirling through town and disappearing just as quickly in a haze of laughter, high spirits AND each others gear..all looking infuriatingly similar. At least the Tiara and Sash came with a nametag.
On the workfront, worth a look is the new Ford Ranger utility range of products. Replacing the long serving Courier range, the Ranger takes it’s styling cues from the hugely popular ‘F’ series trucks. Well priced and well specified, I think they will be a winner so make sure you call in and check them out. In other product news, 10 of the most sought after models in the Ford range are landing in Grafton on Monday for 4 days. They are available for evaluation courtesy of Ford, contact Rob Connell or Tom Freebody to arrange your turn behind the wheel of the latest and greatest from Ford.
Also the workfront, my apologies for any inconvenience caused by the logjam in the Mighty River Service centre. A lift in work blew out our lead times. The good news is we are now on top of it and ready to look after everybody pronto.
Finally the curtain came down on Boothby and Blanch last Friday. I don’t know Mr Boothby but Milo Blanch has not only provided me with a hugely productive workforce he has also gone out of his way to help me in a variety of unexpected ways on any number of occasions. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the send off but I am looking forward to assisting Milo’s transition into a well earned retirement, and wish both families all the very best.
Happy motoring,
Spratty
