SPRATTY SAYS 8th December 2007
This week in Grafton our mega-handymen hit the switches on their Christmas lights. In Sydney the quality on display locally would support a burgeoning population of Mr Whippy vans and hot dog stands. While the number of pyjama clad, mainly juvenile rubbernecks on a pre bedtime ramble..well..pretty much like me.. is a little limited, the impact is no less impressive. Nice work fellas.
I've often thought about knocking up a few lights, however Mrs Spratty is terrified at the thought of my more impressive personal traits bubbling to the surface while handling live electricity, probably a good call. Come to think of it, use of power tools by yours truly generally is gently discouraged for very good reasons.
On the home front the Big One repossessed the Bird during the week citing inadequate avian care and support. I don't know what goes on at her house, but we (being Mrs Spratty), gave that bird everything except a university education. Only to have it thrown back in our faces. That bird got away with stuff I wouldn't be game to try. Is there a military school for Cockatiels? No wonder they make good pets, why would you want to live anywhere else. Do they do each other's heads in the wild as well?
Dispite slow enquiry from potential sponsors, Graham's groin is on the mend, disappointing news for the petrochemiocal industry but great news for the Grafton Tigers who are starting to show solid early pre-season form, well they have started before everybody else so they must be in front. If the other Tigers are half as serious as the Big G, it augers well for the success of Victorian winter sport in Grafton.
In other sporting news; while I haven't made the score sheet yet at oz-tag, you can put me down for a try assist a this stage. Our early results have been mixed due to weather, slackness and my 17 year old team mates confusion and lack of understanding footy tactics from the 70's.. oh and having some overweight, overrated boofhead older than their dad in the team who thinks he is Grahame Langlands. Thankfully for my team mates, Changa is restricting himself to short sharp selective bursts on the field at this stage.
On the workfront, Macaughey's C and T as well as new sales recruit Hayden Egan are having a Christmas Clearance sale of our used cars at Spring Street this weekend. In conjunction with Mighty River Caravans over 150 units are up for grabs, no reasonable offer will be refused I have told them to clear the decks to make way for new stock. Increased levels of New car trading and the power of technology has produced some ripper trade-ins from all over the place.
Finally Steve Mitchell and the team at Mighty River Service have got some innovative offers available to ensure your car is in tip top condition and wont let you down during the all important holiday season.
Happy motoring.
