SPRATTY SAYS 20-01-2007
Uncharacteristically mild weather was the hallmark of the week. Or am I becoming acclimatised? With a few fish around and the golf course looking a picture there was some tough decisions to be made over the past week or so. All I had to do was ramp up the ineptitude on the home front, and the full recreational menu was up for grabs. A piece of cake.
A few “tut tuts” from Mrs Spratty, and I was out the door.
Anyway she’s much better qualified to handle the toxic twilight world of CC girls room, the Big One’s latest romance and keeping the joint turning over generally. I did have a bit of a scare when I discovered she’s moved some furniture into the shed, but it seems I’m right for now.
The coming week marks the inaugural training session for Grafton’s Mighty Redmen. Keen to defend the Premiership Title, training starts at Rugby Park on Tuesday 23 January at 630pm. Training is also on Friday nights at this stage. Also any kind of ability, fitness and experience is preferred but definitely not essential, it’s not just for the young and immature, as I proved last year, pretty well any idiot can get a Guernsey. Seriously, all are welcome, while pre season training is not always fun, in fact while coach Garry Powell seems to grow horns this time of the year he is definitely effective. .
As you all know I’m definitely not a mechanic so bear with me on this one. In the process of fitting LPG to falcons in particular we have discovered they actually go much better on highway driving. Around town there is little noticeable difference, however on the highway there is significant improvement. We think the reason for this is that due to the quest for fuel economy, Ford install an inhibitor for petrol engines that restricts fuel usage, LPG conversions bypass this restriction allowing significant increases in performance levels. That is how it was explained to me. Anyway the guys in the workshop are pretty excited about it, and would be keen to discuss it with you. Contact Brian or Fiona for further information.
Finally with the annual lift in sales this time of the year we have some terrific trade-ins on offer, with plenty of great cars under $10,000. Our suppliers Ford and Hyundai have chipped in with some sensational deals. So call in and ask the guys ( especially new guy Carl) the hard questions.
Happy motoring,
Spratty
