SPRATTY SAYS 28th July 2007Nice to see a little more warmth in our world this week. With race week receding into memory and the mercury finally on the move, the player comfort level has definitely taken a turn for the better. All we need to do now is sort out all the sniffles and coughs left behind by the cold snap. We got our first taste of Pollie Power during the week with a visit from Mr Rudd. While like everyone I welcome interest in the Clarence, I was curious to note there was no mention of assistance in anything we desperately need like Hospitals, roads, schools and most of all an end to the 75 year wait for a new bridge. I would have thought the bridge festivities may have dropped a few hints. No, all we got was the old chestnut of damming the Clarence, something that will never happen, unless of course you count the project out at Coutts Crossing. There's a creek, which is a tributary to the Clarence and a dam wall and soon I gues,s lots of water. I'm no engineer but there are lots of blokes working on some impressive looking gear, building something that will supply water, as I understand it, to Coffs by of all things a pipeline. A large, yet low key infrastructure project, providing lots of jobs and huge benefits On the home front CC girl has decided she likes being single, for now anyway. With her 15th birthday around the corner that is indeed good news. The Big One has a new man in her life, who was confronted by a female committee consisting of three generations of potential 'in-laws' on the weekend. He scored well in most categories, except the bird now prefers him to me! A torn heartstring kept me off the field last weekend, but it didn't stop the Redmen. Grafton raising it's colours against strong Wollongbar teams in all but a tight third grade tussle. The day Culminated with a totally dominant performance in First Grade, and the Club Championship for the first time in many years. A just reward, for the effort that goes into the club off the field by a host of unsung heroes, who have managed to turn home games into something of an event. Last Saturday was no exception, with the Finally we have over 150 new and used cars, vans, utes, campertrailers, caravans, poptops, 4x4s, campervans and much more arriving regularly both at Fitzroy Street and Spring Street where you can check them out 7 days a week. Happy motoring, Spratty |
