Autumn has come and gone, but the cooler weather has brought these glorious sunny days… they certainly make up for the chilly mornings. With the gardening activity wound down a little for Winter, Sundays have become a little more recreational. Mrs Spratty and I have become more familiar with the Golf Course, and subject to adult supervision, the boat has been getting a little more use.
On the home front CC girl has decided to take part in the Junior Jacaranda Queen program. With some degree of trepidation we went to the first meeting at the Grafton Civic centre during the week and to my surprise I was impressed with the contemporary relevance of the program as well as the benefits it confers on both the participants as well as the Community as a whole. I will confess to tuning out when the discussion centred on the nitty gritty girl stuff, but I hope the Community continues to get behind it. Just quietly it won’t kill CC girl to make a Civic effort either.
The battle between netball and Rugby continues to rage in the Spratty household, the Redmen have a bye this weekend so hostilities will be put on hold for a week.
The Big one down in Coffs seems to be forever on semester breaks, yet somehow busy..mmm. At she’s chugging slowly along under her own steam, and that’s got to be less brain damage for me.
On the workfront May was a very busy month, in fact a record month for used cars. In the past week our ‘export’ program found homes in Newcastle, Glenn Innes, Brisbane, Asquith and Wollongong as well as Lismore, Casino and Sawtell.
A footnote to the Tasmanian adventure, there was a little bit of a kerfuffle getting the Territory on to the Spirit of Tasmania in Sydney. We are now procedural and timetable experts on that method of conveyance, and needless to say the next one will be a lot easier. Like most things it was fine once we got the full details. Dave Landenberger would be happy to assist anyone thinking about a self-drive Tasmanian holiday.
We have received our first shipments of the new Hyundais Santa Fe and Accent. They look sensational and I’m sure you’ll be seeing plenty of them around town before too long. They are definitely worth checking out.
Also on the Hyundai front Rob Connell heads off the Soccer in Germany next week for a well-earned reward. Pleease go easy on us while he is away as we lean on his new car expertise pretty heavily.
Finally a reminder of the free pink slip offer through NRMA our Victoria street Service hyperdome.
Happy motoring,
Spratty
