SPRATTY SAYS 24-03-2007
The avalanche of Hot Cross Buns around the place prompted a glance at the calendar, and guess what, it’s 2 weeks until Easter. The edge has definitely come off the mercury allowing for very high quality player comfort levels for valley dwellers.
Don’t know if it’s the time of the year or a wife thing, but Mrs Spratty booked me in to see the doctor for a check up recently. The lady doctor was a pretty good sport about a car related problem as well as my poor attitude to the whole process. After making the usual car dealer jokes, about having no heart, I have been determined to be something of a medical miracle. Once they finished working out all the things that are wrong with me, it seems I’m clinically out of control. It certainly feels that way between the ears some days, but actually I don’t feel too bad. The bottom line is it has been decided that I’m going to be hand reared for a bit.
Perhaps coincidentally, Mrs Spratty, dissatisfied with the level of Flora at her immediate disposal, decided she needed a ‘shwubbery’ at the Ponderosa. Having huffed and puffed my way through the construction of the Valley’s newest horticultural marvel, it seems we need another one. Ladies own up, men are simply a novel yet complex science project, conducted by women from a surprisingly young age, to support a secret female hypothesis. That being the case, I would rather just get drip fed cheese, if it’s all the same thanks.
Today is Election Day for NSW voters. While there may be a few surprises, two things are certain, firstly we will get the Government we deserve and secondly, in the most city centric state in the Commonwealth, Clarence voters will remain just the faintest blip on the Macquarie Street radar, despite the best efforts of our most able of members.
A big apology to Rugby supporters and fans inconvenienced by the late withdrawal by Inverell last week. There is a feast of Rugby on display today which should more than make up for it. There are about a thousand games being played on Saturday afternoon and into the evening at Rugby Park. Commencing with a double header at 12:30, concluding with a high power representative repechage match, a local derby which will be played with plenty of feeling at 6:20 pm… be early and bring your boots!
On the workfront, we’ve been mighty busy at Mighty River, exporting cars all over the place, the highlight being the ‘his and hers package’ sold by Tom Freebody and Fiona Harris to a couple from Boambee, better still as they were only after one car, nice work guys.
Finally I don’t get too excited normally about car products coming down the track, however Ford have definitely got some exciting things happening. The new Falcon, codenamed Orion, due March next year is an absolute cracker, before then in October however we get a new Mondeo, a stunning car, which will definitely give the market a nudge.
Happy Motoring,
Spratty
