SPRATTY SAYS 27-05-2006

Brrrrrr.. the cold snap during the week and the frost it brought with it was a reminder that Winter is well and truly upon us. The sudden outbreak of sniffles and colds unfortunately is all too familiar at this time of the year. I’m certainly no Doctor, but I have found flu injections at this time of the year can sometimes help ward off unwanted bugs and viruses, it may pay to check with your Doctor on a preventative measure, after all we aren’t getting any younger.. are we!

On the home front it appears the battle with the green monster in the backyard has ground to a halt, with the mower even starting to gather a little dust. That job aside maybe theres more time for fishing and golf? I doubt it Mrs Spratty gave me a ‘we’ll see’..and ‘a you cant do everything’..an ominous sign indeed.

CC girl seems to have met everybody in the Clarence Valley, there cant be too many homes she hasn’t slept over in. I actually caught her at home ..even doing homework the other night..although it was bitterly cold outside. I spend some time trying to understand the social groupings that are critical to a 13 year old, and equate the tops of the heads in the back of the car that I regularly drop home with names and faces. It’s a tough assignment when any interaction with passengers, verbal or otherwise is frowned upon as Gay. So to CC girl’s buddies please excuse me if I get you all a little mixed up as in the rear vision mirror at night, hate to say it but you all look pretty much the same.

On the work front May has turned out to be a busy month. As I write this Tony Flatley is on his way to Singleton to deliver a Falcon Ute to an equestrian family, I had to promise them that Tony would give them a horse related hand in lieu of the delivery fee. I didn’t tell Tony, but he’ll be right, he seems to have taken to the task of celebrity deliverer, and he loves talking horses. Folks from Taree, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Glenn Innes and Ballina all found their automotive solution here in Grafton during the week.

The big news this week however, is David Landenberger sold a near new Territory to a family from Smithton in TASMANIA. I must be honest I ‘m still no entirely sure where that is.We had the price and combination they were after, we also arranged their finance, sadly for David (..and Tony) he didn’t get to go to Tassie, as we put the Territory on the Spirit of Tasmania in Sydney for our first ‘offshore’ delivery. The ‘Berger’ is pretty pumped nonetheless after a big week that included a trip to Sydney for some sales training, be sure to call in and test his newfound skills.

Finally a word on a special offer put together by NRMA and the Mighty River Service Centre, Its quite simple if purchase an NRMA green slip from our Fitzroy Street office, call into our Victoria Street service centre and collect a pink slip at no charge. Now that ought to ease the pain of rego a touch.

Happy motoring,

Spratty
