SPRATTY SAYS 18-11-2006
37 sleeps until Christmas, can you believe it!
How's the wild weather? Lucky I have Mrs Spratty to hold my hand and keep me settled down when it gets a little close to home. The other upside of the recent wet is that (honey) I can’t mow in the wet. I know it looks a little dusty, but (honey) I have to wait until it dries out..which should give me another week or so. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
On home related matters, I made a useful discovery over the last week or so. Having difficulty separating and identifying CC girl’s buddie -, partly because they all wear sunglasses with lenses bigger than mangoes and partly because I mostly see the tops of their heads in the back of the car as I drop them home. In a blinding flash of insight I discovered the bulk of my id problems were being caused by the Liquid Wardrobe.
You see, they wear pretty distinctive clothing and accessories; the problem is they swap their gear like footy cards. Just when you think you got the name and the face sorted out..the frock, the earrings, sunglasses and the handbag are running around with someone else..and someone else again, eventually returning full circle. I’ve begun to wonder is it like musical chairs, where there is one more person than stuff...I guess we will never know until the music stops, and like that’s ever going to happen!
The Big One is having a little stay with us. Much as we love her and love having her, I'm pretty confidant she’ll be leaving in a day or two. It is one of her first visits home after leaving and it’s funny having kids visiting you, on one hand they are like guests and you want to put your best foot forward on the other hand you feel you should remind them who is top dog at the Ponderosa. One thing is for sure it’s not an experience that makes you feel young again.
Over the past couple of weeks exports kept us pretty busy, with Jacaranda and the weather locally, we were a bit preoccupied. We discovered a place called Rob Roy just past Inverell, where we delivered a new Hyundai Santa Fe to some really nice folks on a property. A good young bloke from Inverell also found his dream ute in Grafton and a policeman from Port Macquarie sorted out a motoring dilemma here during the week.
Customers in Bangalow, Gosford and Brisbane also found cars at Mighty River during the week. The mood was pretty different around town this week, with very much 'a back to business' feel about the place. It was good to see parking spaces in Fitzroy Street normalised after the completion of the new office block over the road.
The big news however was that the boys successfully completed their LPG fitting course in Sydney last week and we are gearing up for fitment..so stand by.
Happy motoring,
Spratty
