SPRATTY SAYS 01-09-2007

Just when you thought we were out of the woods with our sniffles and sore throats, our poor old equine buddies have contracted the dreaded lurgy. What a hassle for horse owners, poor buggers, the only up side is for fans of the dish licker variety, who have the track scene to themselves for the minute.

On the home front the poor old Ponderosa is looking a little neglected. I nearly broke out the mower last weekend, sadly recent rains caused a failure in backyard OH &S and the mower stayed put. Passionfruit production is winding down to the last few stragglers and the kangaroos are annoying someone else.

Talking about annoying someone else, CC girl has reduced her guest appearances to a minimum; I guess she is busy collecting her mobile wardrobe from all points across the Valley. In a cogent message to Messrs Howard and Rudd, she doesn't know how much she earns nor does she care, as long as her banking library card works in the Wailing Wall when something gorgeous is required urgently. I wonder where that puts her in the workplace agreement universe?

Pretty sure I am up to speed with my older daughter although she puts her life in the blender every few months so it is hard to keep up. Key points are same relatively new boyfriend, new lounge, new flatmate, same course, different campus and it's all good I think.

On the football front both Redmen contenders got rolled on the weekend, but get another crack at the title today. Ballina were too good, adjusting better to the slippery conditions, restricting our backline to low revs. I reckon it will be a different story on a dry track next weekend in Lismore, if we get the opportunity for another crack. Another week or two will allow the U19's to muster a few troops missing in recent weeks through injury, and are a long way away from being out of it.

On the workfront the big news is we are about to relocate our used cars to Spring Street. None too soon either as we are busting at the seams in Fitzroy Street with the huge growth the business has undergone over the last two years. It will also enable Team McCaughey and co to open both our Caravan business as well as our used cars over the weekend period. Importantly we will be able to do justice to some of the great cars in stock by displaying them properly. Do I seem pretty excited...you betcha!

Finally don't forget to ask Rob Connell some hard questions about some of the sensational offers from Ford and Hyundai...and get him to check for bonuses in the bottom drawer, or wherever it is that he seems to find them. I particular check out the NEW NEW focus diesel, what a car! As well as great run-out deals.

Happy motoring,

Spratty
