SPRATTY SAYS 02-09-2006

How good are the Mighty Redmen. It was a huge day out last Saturday at Rugby Park., with Grafton hosting visitors from Yamba, Ballina, Lismore and finally Casino. In blustery conditions and in front of a large crowd, there was plenty of great footy with the highlight undoubtedly being a dramatic come from behind victory by a highly composed and patient Grafton Redmen side in first grade to propel them to another grand final in Lismore next Saturday.

Casino with the lions share of territory and possession threw everything at the Redmen. Terrific defence from Grafton and incredible patience without the ball finally paid off with lock, Al Donahy crashing over beside the posts with 5 minutes on the clock, with Aaaron Taylor’s coolly slotted conversion ultimately the difference between the two sides. ..7 sleeps to the grand final!!

On the home front I have been banking badly needed brownie points, reacquainting myself with the mowing process and other items on ‘the list’, in anticipation of using them and more next weekend, although the weather has helped me pace myself. Just quietly I don’t think I be alone in that quest.

Things on the workfront have been pushed into the background a little in the last week or so, although I did get to Sydney to attend the launch of the all new Hyundai Elantra, which needless to say is a crackerjack car, jampacked with goodies, built to a standard that is fast becoming the envy of the industry and becoming available at similar money to the outgoing model. .Sometimes I just wonder how they do it.

Also on the workfront, our LPG conversion accreditations are on track to commence fitments mid September, although with the level of enquiry we will be very soon booked into October.

Finally also on the workfront, while I was chasing up Redmen gear to make available to supporters which is on display here at Fitzroy Street, we went the whole hog and acquired the full range of Wallaby supporters gear. It’s arrival is imminent, so for all you Rugby nuts out there watch this space..and the Parts counter in Fitzroy Street.

Happy motoring,
