SPRATTY SAYS 22nd September 2007On the home front the Ponderosa is benefiting greatly from the heat and moisture on offer at the moment, offsetting to some degree the ineptitude it suffers at the hands of its largest and most demanding occupant. Those of you with teenagers (or possibly husbands/partners who behave like teenagers) will appreciate that the birthday concept has been transformed into a festival of sequential events, loosely aligned to the actual occasion. A suitable carnival atmosphere is created, personal belongings become as randomly scattered as each event, culminating in the resolution of lost property, misplaced teenagers and the resumption of normal hostilities after an appropriate and extended period of time. Which reminds me, I now only have one teenage daughter, until at least the results of the count back are in, because that simply cannot be correct. On the workfront, Grafton sourced products from Mighty River are finding their way into homes the length and breadth of the Commonwealth. In two of the more notable exports this week, Adam sold a camper trailer thingie, to a man in Cooktown, while Rob Connell continues his remote love affair with the South of the state with another car to Wagga. As I write this he’s organising another car to Adelaide. It’s funny the crew selling cars to places they have never been, it allows for some wonderful gee ups. Tom Freebody still thinks Woy Woy means Deep Water and that they can’t decide which Woy means deep and which is water. Call in and help him out if you can. After only a moderate degree of brain damage Team McCaughey and the Mighty River used car selection are now happily ensconced at 1 Spring Street. Whilst there is still plenty to do, they are up and running and able to annoy Paul and Adam in Caravan sales on a daily basis. I’m looking forward to getting familiar with the third food group about to open over the road, with OPorto joining Subway and McDonalds on the menu. Yes indeed people, life in Grafton is good. Finally, also on the workfront, the fullrange of Fabulous Discoverer Motor Homes have arrived as have the rest of the sensational Goldstream Camper Trailers, both offering a truly 5 star adventure holidays. See them, the other 60 odd mobile holiday units as well as a similar number of hand picked automotive trinkets on display 7 days week at the New Mighty River Central 1 Spring Street, South Grafton..or on the internet 24 hours a day 7 days a week at www.mightyrivercaravans.com.au Happy Motoring and Caravanning, Spratty |
