SPRATTY SAYS 29th September 2007

Can't be long now to Jacaranda. We went from the races through the last of the winter sports so it must be that time of the year. Dispite not being involved, I have bumped into various aspects of the Queen and Princess programs and it's nice to see they are as relevant, dynamic and, most importantly, as popular as ever with our young women. If only our pollies were as organised and fair dinkum as our Jacaranda organisers, I'd vote for them in a flash.

After the winter hiatus the mowers are back in business in earnest. The weather should serve us up some pretty spectacular gardens by Jacaranda as well, reminding the rest of us just what is possible in the backyard.

Mrs Spratty and I got a little excited when the Big One announced she would be staying in Grafton for the week, only to discover that the academic environment was more conducive to study at a house occupied by her current beau. Well, we got a visit and I got to downgrade her car, hey a win is a win.

The social whirlwind that is CC Girl seems to have taken a breather this week from her hectic schedule, and my goodness it's hectic, although her current favourite is away for a week or so..mmm.

NRL Grand Final this weekend, Mrs Spratty and I join the Daily Examiner Odyssey to Sydney. Although I still think of Manly as the Silvertails, it has to be better than the empty feeling of watching two interstate teams slugging out a Grand Final in Sydney last year. The Queenslanders took over the Olympic Precinct last year in huge numbers and turned it into a state of origin home game, which didn't hurt the Bronco's chances in the end just quietly.

At least NSW will be represented, although the Storm are deserving contenders and rightful favourites. Should be a cracker of a game and an end of season trip respectively.

On the workfront we have plenty still to do but Spring Street is slowly taking shape. Against Paul Winmill's better judgement he put me in charge of the Caravans last Sunday, didn't sell anything but had a wonderful time. I think I met most of the adult population if Glen Innes, in Grafton for one thing or another, as well as a good cross section of the Valley community. I think Paul's going to give me another warning letter, I can't help it hanging out with Caravans makes me feel like I'm on holidays.

Finally our service department have put together a fixed price service menu for the ever growing variety of vehicles we use. They start at under $100 and are very reasonable, call into Victoria Street for details or call Laila on 66422611.

Happy Motoring and Caravanning,
