SPRATTY SAYS 30-09-2006

Well there goes September, and with it went any remaining hint of the cooler weather, the weather at the moment has a ‘just right’ feel about it. If only we all had more time to enjoy it.

In my world I think the Jacaranda folks got up to a few things that did not involve me, but that’s ok because there’s plenty to come..Im starting to think it may be worth pacing myself on our Jacaranda adventure, particularly with the heavy duty events fast approaching. It’s also keeping CC girl and Mrs Spratty pretty busy, and with CC girls current passion with netball and sport in general, the construction projects at the Ponderosa as well as the arrival of Mrs Spratty’s mum... I’m almost back below the radar. In fact if the lawn could mow itself I could nearly sack myself at home.

Also on the renovations front I think I am on my last warning from all tradesmen concerned for being inaccurate, unclear and pretty much incompetent as an owner. Thank God for Mrs Spratty for keeping the show on the road.

With the close of the winter sports season, health and fitness changes pace a little. With our very own Pie Eating champion Ed leading the way. We are proud to sponsor the Valley’s own Biggest Loser program. The weigh in during the week indicated Ed could face some pretty tough competition, my money is on our cultural attaché, who does nothing by half. Look out for our “Losers” in a gym near you. On that note I must commend the calibre of training facilities in town, not that I have been wearing them out, they are well worth a visit.. and believe me it all helps.

Congratulations this week to the Rotary folks for a great day last Sunday at Grafton Golf Club. The annual Charity event was staged at the same high standard as last year raising much needed funds for a variety of worthy charities. Most importantly it got me on to the Golf Course and enabled me to spend the day with some real high quality and very tolerant folks... (Memo to Mrs Spratty) and any way the grass will be there next weekend. Seriously Rotary do great things usually unheralded for many worthy causes that do benefit the community in the long run...good stuff.

On the work front customers from Ballina, Kellyville, Glenmore Park, Auburn, Pennant Hills and Busby have all found cars in Grafton. Coffs people in particular seem to have developed a real sweet tooth for our cars, with plenty heading South past the Banana Curtain.

The big news this week is the week have traded our first tractor, a real big bugger, there’s not a lot of room in Fitzroy Street to play with it, I mean assess it, so it might have to have a little stay in the sandpit at the Ponderosa. When it comes to trades there is pretty well nothing we wont look at, try us out.

Happy motoring,

Spratty
